It’s been a stressful few days trying to get everything I need done completed before I make the trip back home to visit. I’m excited but know that I need to swallow it and realize I won’t get everything done before I go.
no action shots but I’ve been playing with different stitch patterns. Both are made from redheart soft (the blue is oceanspray and the other is off white).
If sex truly does sell, I could probably make quite a bit off the off white one, or Maybe I just have a dirty mind.

working on a silly little scarf. Trying to teach myself some more complex stitches to incorporate into my crochet. I think this will be a scarf ultimately

I received an absolutely awe inspiring package from miss Bugaboo1 and wanted to share the beautiful things here. Hubby was supposed to be home early today but called and won’t be in until after dark so I had to attempt the running leap pose maneuver with the camera I will get better photos when I can force him into slave labor lol.
But for now enjoy the beautiful things. I’m feeling very horrible about what I sent, but it has been a terribly difficult month and busy between getting my hubby home and getting sick and my sister having the twins. There are a few other things I have cut but not sewn for Steph but my mood for sewing has been complete and total crap lately so with mom’s help when I go back home I am going to make a loom for Steph. Mom has made a few and using her experience to guide me, I should be able to make a beautiful loom.
Now enough with the talking and on to the eye candy

a beautiful ultra soft sweater, my photos do this no justice, I will have the hubby help me get good photos of it later.

an amazing blue shawl I’m quite cold constantly but absolutely love sitting out on the deck (even in the colder months and this mohair beauty will definitely break the chill. The color is so vibrant and wonderful.

A beautiful set of wristwarmers and a matching scarf made from rowan tweed in a delicious shade of dark chocolate. I tried to get a good detail shot of the leaf scarf (straight from my wists) but my color is considerably off

and a fabulous set of 3 martini washcloths. I’d received one from Superhooker before, but Alexis in all her glory decided to use it to clean up paint when I let her and her girlfriend paint t-shirts and she let it dry rather than rinsing it out and it killed it
If I catch her trying to use these for her sillyness I will get her!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much Steph for the beautiful things!

The mother in law is planning to pick up crochet again. So I thought I would put her a package together for her birthday. The bag is quite simple but I think it will make a nice project bag. Also sending her a book on crochet, a set of hooks and 8 skeins of yarn. I thought it would be more fun to have an offset pocket on the front rather than a centered one. It is impossible to tell here, but the bag has 8 skeins of yarn inside it and the book and hooks so it’s quite a large bag

close up of the fabric and front pocket (put there for her to use for her cell phone)

As you know I am the world’s worst blogger. I stink at it. I get on and typically feel so scattered that I do not get the information down that I wanted and end it very quickly. See that badge above? I will be including it in each and every post I make from now on. You may ask yourself why, or you may not care, but I implore that you click on it and read just a little.
I have noticed such a surge of individuals going green the past 6 months. It is on all of our minds, many of us may be questioning why the need is so intense ‘all of the sudden’ I read on http://www.brighterplanet.com and on http://www.350.org and was amazed at the information I found.
I have been that girl that was on the fence. I have been making small efforts here and there to do my part. But i realize the importance of moving forward and want to do one other small part in helping ensure that the word gets out. But more importantly than just getting the word out I want to encourage everyone to make an effort to do their part, and make at least 1 small change in your lifestyle to help reduce the impact we make on the world.
I have started using reusable grocery bags, and changed all the lightbulbs in our house to the low wattage energy efficient models. I have begun unplugging electronics when they are not in use (like my sewing machine and worklamps, and the coffee maker) I turn off lights when not in rooms and do my best to complete all of my running around in one trip out of the house each week rather than having to make a trip here and there (which can quickly add up to 10 trips a week in the blink of an eye). The kids take their lunch in a reusable lunch box rather than paper bags. Yes the changes are small, and really do not inconvenience me and my family in any great and detrimental way. But I think if we all even just took 3 small steps towards improving our environment and reducing our impact on the earth, we would quickly find that we can make a huge difference in the condition of our world.
May peace and love be with you.

I think broomstick lace is so pretty and yet so underused in projects with any shape variation, so I decided I need to make a hat here is the work I’ve managed to complete on it today. I’ve worked on and off. I think I am quite in love with it so far and hope I can finish it without forgetting what it was I was doing
